WHAT IS SUP?
SUP is an acronym that stands for “standup paddleboarding” and it is the fastest growing sport in the world.
THE ULTIMATE PADDLE BOARD FESTIVAL
The ultimate, all inclusive SUP Festival is coming to the heart of New York City at North Cove Marina on Saturday August 31th, in front of Brookfield Place in Battery Park, right below the Freedom Tower. The event will feature a bucket list paddle around the Statue of Liberty, youth clinics, demos and fun races for all levels and ages at the Pier as well as live music, entertainment, yoga and much more. This is all capped off by the World Championship Tour competition as Stop #2 of the APP World Tour.
New to the line up following on from the iconic Statue of Liberty Paddle is a Community Downwind event open to all and in support of the amazing Charity, Surf For All, to be held at 4pm on Saturday 22nd September in Long Beach, followed by a very unique after party! Please see below for more info.

A RACE FOR EVERY LEVEL
Whether you are an avid enthusiast wanting to push your limits and race around the Statue of Liberty (10km), or try the sport out for the very first time in the City Paddle Festivals very own Demo Pool at the heart of the venue, the New York SUP Open provides a truly inclusive participatory experience right at the heart of the City.
A trip out to Long Beach on the weekend of August 31st will provide the opportunity for a fun paddle to support an amazing Charity: SURF FOR ALL (see below)
APP WORLD TOUR STOP # 2
Featuring Pro & Pro-Am Competition
The New York SUP Open will be the second stop on the 2018 APP World Championship Tour that will welcome the World's very best Stand Up Paddlers to New York to continue their 2018 season. Watch out for the likes of Michael Booth (Australia), Casper Steinfath (Denmark), Mo Freitas (Hawaii), Kai Lenny (Hawaii), Danny Ching (USA), Travis Grant (Australia), Slater Trout (USA), Arthur Arutkin (FR) and many more in the men, while some of the major names for the women include Terrene Black (AUS), Candice Appleby (USA), Shae Foudy (USA), Manca Notar (Slovenia) and Chloe Walkerdene (Australia).
The APP World Tour Pro division will feature the Top 24 Men and Top 8 Women from the 2017 Ranking who will be joined by 8 Men & Women Wildcards who will step up to take on the best of the best.

The New York SUP Open will also have a Pro-Am division for aspiring Pros wanting to break into the big leagues and competitive enthusiasts looking for a challenge, following the same format as the Pros and providing a fun and exciting competitive experience for avid enthusiasts.
Subject to participation levels, this will include Surf Sprint Racing out at Long Beach on the 18th September

Join us on Saturday, 31st of August at 4PM for an opportunity to help others. Together with Skudin Surf, the APP World Tour is proud to host a special 9 kilometer downwind excursion led by pro athletes to raise funds for Surf for All.
Surf for All is a non-profit organization attributed to Skudin Surf where children with autism, Down's Syndrome and special needs are offered life-changing experiences through surf therapy. Skudin Surf is led by legendary big wave surfer Will Skudin and his brother Cliff. Together, these two have created a rare opportunity for children with special needs.
Surf therapy has been researched as a way to touch children with varying disabilities and Skudin Surf holds weekly camps all summer in Long Beach in order to serve as many children in the New York area as possible.
Entry fee for Surf for All downwinder is $85 and includes a downwind experience you won't forget. Paddlers will launch from Ted's Fishing Station Restaurant at 143 Bayside Drive, Point Lookout NY 11569 and paddle with the wind at their back to the APP World Tour Competition site at the end of Riverside Blvd in Long Beach. A shuttle is provided for downwind participants to bring them back to Ted's Fishing Station where Skudin Surf will host an epic after-party. Party includes a 2.5hr open bar, buffet and live music on the beach.
